Winter Whale Watch Week
The Oregon coast is known as the best place to see the annual gray whales migration anywhere in the world.
Though whales are visible year-round, the winter and spring weeks are special because it is the time of their migrations. In the Winter from mid-December through mid-January approximately 20,000 gray whales migrate south to warm waters of Baja Mexico.
Along the Oregon coast there are 24 the best locations to view gray whales. The watching spots usually are located in or near state parks. Trained volunteers will help visitors during official Whale Watch Weeks. Check the map on the Oregon State Parks website.
