The 90-acre Bastendorff Beach County Park is located 10 miles west of Coos Bay, two miles of the small town of Charleston and a quarter mile off the Cape Arago State Highway. The park offers great vistas of the ocean, two miles of beach combing, climbing up into the cave, picnicking, whale watching during its migration (December through February & March through May).
The day use area provides picnic sites, playground area for children, lawns for softball and volleyball, horseshoe and basketball courts, fire pit, barbecue and fish cleaning stand. Visitors are able to reserve sheltered picnic sites with charcoal grills, electric outlets, electric stovetops, and kitchen sinks with cold water running.
The campground is open year-round includes hook-up sites for RVs or single vehicles, non-hook-up sites for tent campers, camping cabins, and day-use facilities with picnic tables and fireplace.

Follow Highway US 101 to Johnson Avenue in Coos Bay, take Libby Lane and drive for 7.3 miles to Cape Arago Highway. Turn left onto Cape Arago Highway in Barview and continue for 1.4 miles to Bastendorff Beach Road. Turn right and drive for 0.4 miles to Bastendorff Beach County Park.
