South Slough National Estuarine Reserve Interpretive Center

A 5,000-acre National Estuarine Research Reserve, located where rivers freshwater meets the ocean saltwater. As a result, the richest ecosystem forms in the open water channels, tidal and freshwater wetlands, and forested uplands. The Interpretive Center offers exhibit and a film about the flora, fauna, and ecology. Estuary features eight miles of trails, a canoe trip, bird watching, tide pool explorations, and much more.
